Forged in the cracks of Playland, Nik's desire to make video games goes back to the 80's. After much teenage debauchery and too many hours logged in Times Square's premium arcades, he caught the bug for making games when he was asked to join the secret computer room at Bronx Science. Carefully hidden behind a plain black door, a world of hackers, game nerds, software pirates, thieves and other social misfits were revealed to him.

At college he did a bunch of Arty stuff and hung out with a bunch of postmoderny types, smoking ALOT of cigarettes and drinking ALOT of coffee. He won a bunch of awards and commendations while he was there, which was surprising to him because he was high ALOT. Then he went to grad school and did a bunch of more Arty stuff and learned how to program a computer again.

Then he worked at a bunch of places where he did a bunch of gamey or programmy stuff. He almost won IGF a few times, which was great because he got free tickets to GDC and the chance to hang out with some other guys who didn't win. They did all get to hang out at the award ceremony and drink free champagne.

After some shady deals with Fester Winchester, he managed to get his current gig as Creative Director at Smashworx. There he gets to work 14 hours a day, and argue with Tommy about whether we live in a fascist sociey or communist society.
